यमुना नदी का जलस्तर फिर बढ़ा, होटलों और घरों के निचले हिस्से पानी में डूबे

उत्तरकाशी। लगातार हो रही भारी बारिश ने यमुनोत्री हाईवे पर संकट और बढ़ा दिया है। कुथनौर, सिलाई बैंड, ओजरी, डाबरकोट, जंगलचट्टी, नारदचट्टी और फूलचट्टी में मलबा व बोल्डर आने के कारण मार्ग कई जगहों पर बंद पड़ा है। वहीं, स्यानाचट्टी में यमुना नदी के मुहाने पर दोबारा मलबा जमने से कृत्रिम झील बनने लगी है। हालांकि नदी का एक छोर खुला होने से पानी की निकासी हो रही है, लेकिन खतरा अभी भी टला नहीं है।
शुक्रवार रात हुई तेज बारिश के बाद यमुना नदी का जलस्तर अचानक बढ़ गया था और तेज प्रवाह से बनी झील का मुहाना अपने आप खुल गया था। अब दोबारा यहां झील बनने से स्थानीय लोग भयभीत हैं। नदी का बहाव यमुनोत्री हाईवे के पुल से महज तीन-चार फीट नीचे है, जिसके कारण आसपास के होटलों के निचले हिस्से अभी भी पानी में डूबे हुए हैं।
स्थानीय निवासियों का कहना है कि बुधवार को कुपड़ा खड्ड से आए मलबे और बोल्डरों ने यमुना का पानी रोक दिया था, जिससे झील का स्तर तेजी से बढ़ा और देखते ही देखते स्यानाचट्टी के घरों, होटलों और सरकारी स्कूलों में पानी घुस गया। हालात इतने गंभीर हो गए कि हाईवे का पुल भी जलमग्न हो गया और पूरा कस्बा दो मंजिला इमारतों तक डूब गया। लोगों को भागकर दो-तीन किलोमीटर दूर ऊंचे स्थानों पर शरण लेनी पड़ी।
स्यानाचट्टी के जयपाल सिंह रावत, नवदीप और पटमी देवी ने प्रशासन पर लापरवाही का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि अगर यह घटना रात में घटित होती तो बड़ी त्रासदी हो सकती थी। दिन में होने के कारण लोग सतर्क रहे और समय रहते अपनी जान बचा सके। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि कुपड़ा खड्ड से लगातार आ रहा मलबा अभी भी क्षेत्र के लिए बड़ा खतरा बना हुआ है।
